Taking Tacheles (2014)

"Taking Tacheles" is a short documentary about the fall of one of Berlin's most famous alternative landmarks, the "Kunsthaus Tacheles." Tacheles, a bomb-damaged former department store, had a long intricate history as a self-organized, anarchist arts collective. However, by 2010, this famous house for free-thought was already subsumed by ruthless capitalism ~~ Due to a problem with its lease, the Tacheles artists faced eviction to make way for lavish development. (*The house officially closed in 2012.)
